Reflections on Wedding Video Advertising and Business Evolution

Featured Wedding Video

I recently had the chance to dive into a project I’d been putting off for a while: creating a specialized online ad for wedding videos. This ad was one of my early attempts at crafting a successful Google Ad for my own business. It was an interesting exercise in marketing, especially since my focus has since shifted. Many people know I got my start in the wedding video industry in 2008, studying under a company named Coastline Studios located in Grand Rapids. Since obtaining skills from that position, I went on to produce many videos of my own.

Recently, as I navigated the world of wedding video marketing, a significant change occurred within my video business. I began to concentrate more on creating impactful videos for businesses, utilizing analytics and distribution strategies to achieve tangible results. This shift meant that wedding videography, while still close to my heart, took a backseat.

However, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as I worked on this wedding video ad. The vision for marketing in this niche was clear, and it’s amusing to see how it all came into focus in retrospect. Even though I’m currently more focused on business video projects, the thought of capturing the magic of a couple’s special day remains enticing.

Who knows? I might even revisit wedding videography if the right opportunity comes along. There’s something incredibly special about being entrusted with documenting one of the most significant days in someone’s life—a day filled with meticulous planning and heartfelt moments. For the right couple, I’d be more than happy to step back into the world of wedding video, but for now, I’m thrilled to continue exploring the realm of business video.
